What
makes Mineralz better than other
well known brands?
Our mineral makeup contains trusted quality ingredients and does not contain ingredients which
are known to clog pores, or cause redness and irritation.
Mineralz are light, airy and long lasting.
There
are some colors needed in cosmetics that
mother nature was unable to provide, so we have been forced to use a very
minimal amount of inorganic pigments in our formulations as needed. We take pride in offering a
mineral makeup that is formulated as natural and
organic as possible.
All mineral makeup is not created equal. Many traditional cosmetics
contain alcohol,
bismuth oxychloride, carmine, fragrance, lead, mineral oil,
nano-particles, parabens/preservatives, talc
and other chemicals or harsh ingredients which can be harmful
to your health. Mineralz is free of these
unnecessary ingredients. We suggest you remain informed about the
ingredients in the products you are using and choose the safest product
available on the market today.

What
is the benefit of adding jojoba or
kukui nut oil to your mineral makeup?
You may choose to have your Mineralz
enhanced with jojoba or kukui nut oil. Mineralz are
also available "pure" without the addition of natural oils.
Jojoba oil is produced from the seed of
the Simmondsia chinensis plant,
found in Arizona, California and New Mexico. Jojoba oil closely
resembles the sebum in our skin, which is why it is the perfect addition
to mineral makeup. Jojoba is absorbed into the skin easily,
minimizing pores and adding moisture to the skin. Jojoba is
suitable for all skin types, however, due to the anti-inflammatory
properties of Jojoba, we suggest ordering your Mineralz enhanced with
jojoba oil if you have with oily or problematic skin, acne or rosacea.
Jojoba promotes naturally smooth and supple skin and contains
antioxidants Vitamins E, B & C.
Kukui nut oil is pressed from seeds of the
the Aleurites moluccanus tree found
mostly in
Hawaii, specifically Tahiti, Indonesia
and Malaysia. Kukui
means ‘enlightenment' in Hawaiian. Traditionally, babies in Hawaii were
anointed with Kukui Nut Oil to protect their skin from the sun, salt,
and other elements. In addition, it was used on skin irritations,
wounds, and burns. Kukui Nut Oil was also used to massage members of
royalty, who were sometimes massaged for seven or more hours with this
oil!
Kukui
provides moisture and nourishment to dry, mature or wrinkled skin.
It aids in reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Kukui nut oil contains Vitamins A, C and E, which provide anti-oxidants
that help to protect the skin and create a protective shield to lock in
moisture.

What is the shelf
life of your mineral makeup?
Our Mineralz do not contain preservatives,
so the shelf life is more limited than many traditional cosmetics.
But even heavily preserved cosmetics are breeding grounds for bacteria
because the cosmetics come into contact with our skin. Brushes touch
the powders, which then touch our skin, and oils and bacteria are carried
back into the powdered cosmetic, back to the brush the next time you use
your mineral makeup. We suggest you use your makeup within 6-9 months from the date of purchase.

Do you offer samples of

Samples are shipped in small
ziplock bags and contain enough mineral makeup for a few
applications. We do not currently offer samples of our lip stains
but may offer them in the near future.

How do I apply mineral makeup?
Mineral makeup is make of
highly concentrated pigments, which should be used sparingly to achieve a
soft, natural appearance. If your makeup appears caked on or it appears
that there is makeup sitting in your fine lines, then you have used too
much mineral makeup. It takes some practice, just remember that a
little goes a long way.
Start with clean, dry skin. To load your brush with
mineral makeup, first turn your makeup container upside down to transfer a
small amount of minerals to the top of the sifter. Then, carefully open the
container, dip your brush into the minerals at the top of the sifter, being careful not to add too
much. Gently tap your brush over the lid of the container to release
any excess Mineralz. If additional makeup is desired throughout your
application, first use the Mineralz remaining in the lid by stroking your
brush over the lid surface in a circular motion.
If your skin is dry, we suggest you apply a light moisturizer before
applying your mineral makeup. Allow your skin to soak in the
moisturizer and dry before applying mineral makeup to avoid a streaky
appearance.
To apply foundation, stroke the brush firmly against your
skin, buffing in a circular motion. As you blend the pigments into
your skin, this motion will draw out any natural oils from your skin which
will result in a soft, natural appearance. Foundation should match
your skin color as closely as possible to avoid the line or demarcation at
the jaw or hairline.
To apply blush, we suggest using a
cosmetic sponge wedge applicator or a cotton ball. Add a small
amount of mineral makeup to the sponge or cotton ball, apply to the apples
of your cheeks and blend.
Blush can be any color as long as it is
similar in tone or color family as your lip color.
Mineralz Bronzers are a unique blend of
mineral makeup which will give your skin a healthy, warm, sun-kissed
glow. Bronzer is generally applied to the forehead, nose,
cheekbones, chin and jaw line, shoulders, neck or declotte (chest) area.
Mineralz Concealers will cover up dark
circles, redness from acne or rosacea and will tone down yellow skin.
You will feel as beautiful as a bride on her
wedding day when you use Mineralz Veil. Veil is used over the entire face
as a finishing powder and adds an extra "soft focus" appearance. It
is very sheer and light, minimizes fine lines and wrinkles, creating a
smooth flawless complexion.

Do you have any tips for applying eye
makeup?
Many people like to use a primer before applying
their eye colors. While it is not necessary to do so, you may use
our Sheer Veil
as a primer. You may also add veil underneath your eyes during your
eye shadow application. The veil will catch any fallout that may
occur from using too much pigment on your brush. After you have
completed the eye makeup application, the veil can be
gently wiped away and blended into your skin without affecting the rest of
your makeup application.
A simple two color eye is achieved by simply
applying a lighter eye shadow color to the lids are and a deeper color in
the crease slightly blending it upward. Applying the lighter color
to the entire lid will make your lid appear larger and brighter.
A three color eye can be accomplished by
simply adding a second deeper color to the outside corner of the eyelid.
Whites can be used near the corner of the eye and
just beneath the brow for highlights.

Colors Versatile Mineralz are available in
many shades and hues, matte and sparkle. Matte
colors have a flat, soft focus appearance. Sparkle colors are
glittery and shimmery.
You may use our Colors Versatile
Mineralz as eye shadow,
blush, eyeliner or body shimmer. It can also be used in nail polish
or mixed into hair gel for special highlights.
To use one of the Colors Versatile Mineralz as an eyeliner,
we suggest you purchase one of our empty

scoop a small amount of minerals into your empty makeup container, dip a
thin eye liner brush into a drop of Visine and then into the minerals to create a wet
paste. Visine is the perfect medium for wetting your minerals, free
of bacteria, whereas water can contain contaminates you do not want near
your eyes. The mixture should be fairly thick and should not be a runny consistency.

What kind of brush is best for applying
Mineralz?
A Kabuki brush is the best type of brush to
use when applying Mineralz Foundation, Blush, Bronzer or Veil.
Kabuki brushes originated in Japan
with the beauty rituals of early Kabuki and Geisha theaters, and they were
originally intended to help contour and define the cheekbone.
The best Kabuki brush will
fit comfortably in your hand. Your skin will look noticeably different when makeup is applied with
a Kabuki brush due to the tailored brush which will consistently
distribute the correct amount of pigment onto your skin, resulting in
beautiful recession contouring.

How do I remove mineral makeup?
Since mineral makeup is highly pigmented and
can stain your skin if you use too much. It may be necessary to use
more than just soap and water to remove your makeup. We suggest you
use a makeup remover. Darker heavily
applied Mineralz may be more difficult to immediately remove.
